Casio Introduces the GLX-5600KB: A New G-LIDE Collaboration with Kanoa Igarashi

Professional surfing is about reading the ocean, adapting to the elements, and performing under pressure. No one understands this better than Kanoa Igarashi, the World Surf League champion and Team G-SHOCK athlete.
Casio has just unveiled the GLX-5600KB, the third signature model in this powerhouse collaboration. Based on the legendary G-LIDE 5600 series, this watch is not just a tribute to the ocean—it is a tool built to survive it.
Design: Every Watch is Unique
The standout feature of the GLX-5600KB is its manufacturing process. Casio utilizes a technique called Mixed-Color Molding.
By blending black and gray bio-based resins during the molding process, the bezel and band mimic the chaotic, swirling patterns of crashing waves. Because of this process, no two watches are exactly alike. You are getting a truly one-of-a-kind pattern that evokes the power of the sea.
Built for the Waves: "Bullbar" Protection
Surfers know that wipeouts are inevitable. That is why Igarashi requested a feature beloved by G-Shock purists: Wire Face Protectors (often called "Bullbars").
These stainless steel bars sit over the mineral glass, providing an extra layer of defense against rocks, reef, or the surfboard itself. Combined with the "Black and Gold" colorway—Kanoa’s favorite simple-yet-striking palette—it looks as good on the street as it does in the lineup.

Styling the Kanoa Igarashi Edition
This watch bridges the gap between technical surf gear and high-end streetwear.
1. The Wetsuit Ready
This is its natural habitat. The 200M water resistance and slim profile mean it slips easily under a wetsuit sleeve, while the Tide Graph keeps you informed of the swell.
2. Street Casual
The black-and-gold color scheme is versatile enough for daily wear. Pair it with an oversized hoodie and cargo shorts. The wire face protector adds an industrial, rugged edge to the outfit.
